In late October of last year, I started a 30-day trial for radical intuition. I had noticed in the past that when I listened to my intuition, my life got better. When I didn’t, it got worse or stagnated, so I wanted to see what would happen if I took it to an extreme. What if I had my intuition give me information about EVERYTHING I do?
During this trial, as soon as I woke up I tuned in to my intuition and asked what I needed to do next. I would stay tuned in until I got an answer, and then I would carry out whatever answer I got, no matter how much or how little sense it made to me at the time.
Upside
The trial was quite an adventure, with MANY benefits. I experienced better quality and quantity of all the good things in life across the board. I knew this was going to be a great trial, but I had no idea HOW great it was going to be when I started it. I experienced:
- Better health
- Doubled income
- Increased productivity
- Increased satisfaction and happiness
- Increased clarity
- Increased connection and spirituality
- Cleaner house
Better health
Throughout the trial, I had almost no problems with my health or energy, which as someone who has Addison’s Disease, is a damn big deal. My energy was consistently high, and my intuition would tell me when to rest, eat, or sleep. I don’t know whether that was because I was simply more in tune with my body, or whether being constantly connected to source and staying centered caused that. I suspect that it was a combination of both.
Doubled income
The money was unexpected. Especially since I was doing very few income generating tasks, like outreach or marketing. The trial had me doing a lot of mundane tasks, like deep cleaning the kitchen or organizing office supplies, and it was invariably on these days that I had people contact me asking about my coaching services or donating money for my blog posts. If I hadn’t already been convinced of the power of spirituality in business and revenue, this certainly would have convinced me. It was fantastic.
Increased productivity
I seemed to have time for everything I wanted and needed to get done when I took the radical approach to my intuition. Things seemed to take less time, and most tasks felt effortless to complete.
Increased satisfaction and happiness
With all the other benefits, it’s easy to see why my happiness and satisfaction increased. I got more done, made more money, was healthier, had increased clarity and was doing a cool trial that was going swimmingly. There’s not much to complain about there, now is there? 😉
Increased clarity
This one was a little surprising. After about a week of doing menial tasks, my intuition was almost silent. I dug deeper and found that the reason it was silent was because it was waiting for direction. I didn’t have enough internal clarity for it to lead me to the BEST next step for my growth and for my goals. This struck home what a partnership our intuitions are to our lives. It’s not some force that comes down and tells us what to do, it’s a guiding force that helps us get to where we want to go. If we don’t know where we want to go, how can it help us? Developing that clarity was crucial to having getting my intuition back to giving me individual tasks to complete.
Increased connection and spirituality
This one is obvious, and I definitely expected it. If we connect to our intuitions, it’s only natural that our sense of connection and spirituality will increase. Every time I was between a task, I would connect and get centered again, then I would get my next task. It was a wonderful way to experience life.
Cleaner house
Especially at the beginning, my intuition had me doing a lot of cleaning. I would wake up, and even on days where I would normally work on my business heavily, my intuition would have me clean. I deep cleaned the bathroom, the kitchen, the tub, organized a ridiculous amount of paperwork, and there were many other menial type tasks that seemed to come up regularly.
Not bad, right?
Downside
As much as I’d like to say everything in the trial was perfect, there were a few downsides to living Radical Intuition. Not many, but a few.
- Hard to maintain
- Scheduled activities were difficult or distracting
Hard to maintian
It requires exceptional conscious focus and discipline to take time between every single task and meditate or tune in. I also found it easy to get distracted by other things, especially when I was experiencing stress due to my upcoming wedding. Other times I simply wanted a break from that much consciousness. It was a huge change from my previous mode of thought and patterns of behavior, and there were times where it was mentally draining, even if it wasn’t emotionally or physically draining.
Scheduled activities were difficult or distracting
During the trial, I found some scheduled activities, like hanging out with friends or doctor’s appointments, distracting or difficult because I was in the middle of a task that my intuition guided me toward. Some scheduled activities were fine. For instance, my intuition led me to a few scheduled meetings within the Las Vegas community, and I never had trouble with those. I did feel a little nervous about being out of my comfort zone, but I didn’t feel like I was breaking my flow by going. I felt like I was enhancing it.
These downsides pale in comparison to the benefits that I experienced.
Insights and observations
A few things came up that were unexpected.
Little things matter
First, it was amazing how much the little things matter. It was when I was tending to the little things that nagged at me, like the dishes or mundane housework, that I experienced the most “magical” moments. That’s when I got the new clients, the random donations and a huge feeling of relief and bursts of energy. Those little things were acting as energy drains, and not just physical energy drains. They were spiritual energy drains, as well. When I started taking care of them, a lot of things seemed to “just happen.” I hope to explore this in more depth in the future, because it feels like a very important piece of an amazing life.
Clarity is crucial
The intuition, especially in this trial, acts like a GPS. So if I was unclear on what I wanted, or what was most important to me, when I tuned in, I wouldn’t be able to have one task. Sometimes I would get three or four tasks all at once, that were all of equal importance, but none would come up as the best thing to focus on. Since that wasn’t how I wanted to run the trial, I took time to get more clarity at those times, and then I would get a single task, sometimes different from the vague ones that were given to me initially.
I see myself as someone who has good clarity, but this trial showed me how important clarity really is. Confusion and lulls only existed when I wasn’t 100% clear on what I wanted and how important those things were to me. As soon as I had clarity, I was in motion and magic happened. It was definitely a call to grow even more clear than I have been. This includes growing clear on what I want, what my purpose is, what I enjoy and what I would rather not experience (so I can focus even more on what I want.) The more clarity I have, the more prosperity I have.
Moving Forward
Overall, I would have to say this trial was a resounding success. I learned so much about my own intuition, and considering how much I’ve studied it and worked with it, I’m VERY pleased by this. It’s rare I find a way to learn that much more about a skill that I make my living utilizing. I’m very excited to see what I can learn by doing this even more.
I enjoyed this and the results so much that I set one of my 2012 goals to spend at least 1040 hours living Radical Intuition. That’s about 20 hours a week, and so far I’m a little behind schedule.
There’s a very good chance that in the future I’ll end up making this a part of my everyday, every moment living experience, but for now, I want to ease into it a little more and feel it out. I want to get some of the kinks out of the system (or out of me?).
It’s safe to say that the Radical Intuition trial radically changed my life. 😉
