When we talk about “alignment” it can be easy to assume it’s an abstract concept or that there’s no way to judge our alignment other than our feelings or senses.
This is not remotely true. Another way to explore our alignment is to replace the word with “congruence.”
Are our actions and beliefs congruent with what we say we want? Are we congruent within our own ethics and codes of conduct? If the answer is no, then we are not in alignment.
When we are congruent, we are in alignment.
When we are incongruent, we are out of alignment.
When we feel out of alignment, but can’t figure out where it’s coming from, looking at it this way, through the logical and rational approach, helps us diagnose the problem.
This allows us to take correct action.
